Ingredients: 3/4 c. margarine or butter 1 c. brown sugar, packed 1/2 c. granulated sugar 1 egg 1/4 c. water 1 tsp. vanilla 1 c. flour 1 tsp. salt 1 tsp. cinnamon 1/2 tsp. baking soda 1/2 tsp. cloves 1 c. raisins 1 c. chopped walnuts 3 c. quick-cooking oats

Heat oven to 350 degrees. Mix thoroughly shortening, sugars, egg, water and vanilla. Stir in remaining ingredients. Drop dough by rounded tablespoons, one inch apart onto greased baking sheet. Bake 12-15 minutes or until almost no imprint remains when touched with finger. Immediately remove from baking sheet. Store in tightly covered container.

Makes about 5 dozen cookies.
